N52 Carrick Bridge to Clonfad Road Improvement Scheme - Part VIII

Notice is hereby given in accordance with the requirements of the above Regulations, that Westmeath County Council proposes to undertake the following development.
The development will consist of:
The realignment of the existing N52 National Secondary route between Carrick and Clonfad comprising the construction of a Standard Single Carriageway road for a distance of 5.6 km from a location 180m north of Carrick Bridge on the existing N52 to a location 770m south of the Meedian Road junction (L-51153-0) with the existing N52, commencing in the townlands of Paslicktown and Rochfort Demesne and traversing the townlands of Carrick, Walterstown, Higginstown, Dalystown, Calverstown and finishing in the townland of Clonfad.
The works comprise of the construction of a 7.3m carriageway road with 2.5m hard shoulders and 3m verges, a junction with the existing N52 and new N52 in the townland of Carrick (Chainage 650), the construction of a bridge over the new N52 on the Dunboden Road (L-5129-0), the re-alignment of the Dunboden road (L-5129-0) for 530m, the cul-de-sacing of Swampy Boreen (L-5128-0) on both sides where the new N52 crosses it, a new staggered at-grade junction at Dalystown and re-alignment of the existing junction at Dalystown, the re-alignment of the Rochfortbridge road (L-1127-26) for 550m, the re-alignment of the Clonyhague road (L-1118-31) for 210m, the cul-de-sacing of the existing N52 in the townland of Calverstown (Chainage 4760) where the new N52 crosses, a new junction for the Meedian road (L-51153-0) and re-alignment of the Meedian road (L-51153-0) for 385m.
Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme may be inspected at the Kilbeggan Area Office of Westmeath County Council, The Square, Kilbeggan or the National Roads Design Office, Westmeath County Council, Culleen Beg, Mullingar, from 9.00am to 4.00pm each day, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, from Tuesday 14th July 2009 up to and including Friday 28th August 2009.
Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area, may be made in writing to Westmeath County Council, and should be addressed to:-
