Archaeology:
The Project Archaeologists
The Office, in common with many of the other Regional Design Offices, has a small in-house archaeological team. This team is employed directly by the National Roads Authority and co-ordinates the archaeological aspects of the schemes being managed by the office, which incorporates the pre-planning stages of road design to the on-site archaeological investigation and resolution phases, to the post-excavation and publication of the results. In certain cases the team also bring specialist knowledge and assistance to schemes being developed by neighbouring local authorities.
The team currently consists of Senior Project Archaeologist Ronán Swan and Project Archaeologist Orlaith Egan.
