Archaeological investigations
The archaeological investigation of the N6 Kinnegad to Kilbeggan scheme involved centreline test trenching, site specific testing, Geophysical survey, Topographical survey and bogland survey as well as Architectural assessments (written, drawn, and photographic surveys) of various vernacular buildings. The works were divided into two contracts, contract one (Kinnegad-Garranes) and contract two (Garranes-Kilbeggan) approximately 38km in length and carried out by Eachtra Archaeological Projects Ltd and CRDS Ltd respectively, between June and September 2004.
